Jill Smith at Gold Coast Writers Festival – yes that’s me!

I’m looking forward to the fantastic line up of events at next weekend’s Festival. I’ll be there every day, the Friday there will be Writers Seminars (Conference room), Poetry Stream (Meeting Room)  at the Robina Community Centre, and Children’s workshops will be at Surfers Paradise State School. For many authors a chance for an informal get together afterwards at the Krish India Restaurant, Easy T Centre will be fun.

The Saturday will be exciting as the panel sessions run most of the day. I’m delighted to be discussing Sci-fi Fantasy with two multi-published authors Anita Bell and Rowena Corey Daniels from 4 to 4.45pm, in the Auditorium. After this from 5 to 7pm  in the Conference Room, will be the Paint n Prose Cheese and Wine evening, where the winners of Gold Coast Writers writing competitions will be announced. I’ve entered all three competitions.

The Sunday winds up the whole weekend with a Literary Luncheon at Colonial Golf Club, Robina with keynote speaker Jan Murray.

As a teaser for my work I’ve added a Short Story – Thumping Headache to the blog. Read the whole story in the Short Story tab.

This story was published in AntipodeanSF on line site in 2008. It gives you a flavour of my Sci-Fi Fantasy work, each month several short shorties of a quirky nature appear on http://www.antisf.com.au/ they also have radio broadcasts.

I was really thrilled to get this entry accepted as I really enjoy AntipodeanSF and had tried several times previously but not had an entry accepted.
